Kacie Ehinger was hired as the 13th Head Volleyball Coach in Nova Southeastern's history in April 2022.
During the 2023 season, Ehinger led the Sharks to a 20-win campaign and the program's third consecutive appearance at the NCAA Tournament. Ehinger once again guided the Sharks to an upset victory over the top-ranked Tampa Spartans, defeating the Spartans in five-sets. Nadia Lindner became the Nova Southeastern Volleyball program's first AVCA First-Team All-American and was also named the Sunshine State Conference Player of the Year, as well as, the AVCA South Region and D2 CCA South Region Player of the Year. Ehinger also coached Taylor Stockman to AVCA Honorable Mention All-America honors.
In her first season leading the Sharks, Ehinger guided the program to a 19-12 overall record and back to the NCAA Tournament for the second consecutive season. Under her leadership, Nova Southeastern upset No. 1 ranked Tampa in five-sets on Sept. 17. Nova Southeastern had three student-athletes earn All-Sunshine State Conference recognition, as Taylor Stockman, Olivia Aniol, and Kate Mihacevich were all honored. Stockman earned SSC Freshman of the Year honors and was named to the All-Freshman team alongside Aniol, as well as the Third-Team All-SSC with Mihacevich. Following the season, Stockman was named an AVCA All-American Honorable Mention.
Ehinger comes to Nova Southeastern after three seasons at Baldwin Wallace (Ohio), where she led the Yellow Jackets to a 56-22 record. In addition to her role as the head coach at BW, Ehinger also worked as the compliance officer for the athletics department.
“I am excited to join the Nova Southeastern family! I’d like to thank [Athletic Director] Mike Mominey, [Associate Athletic Director] Danielle Daniel, and the rest of the search committee for the opportunity to lead the program,” said Ehinger. “When I first arrived on campus, I knew that NSU was a special place, and I can’t wait to get started.”
As the head coach at Baldwin Wallace, Ehinger mentored 11 All-Ohio Athletic Conference student-athletes and placed a total of 28 on the OAC All-Academic team. During her final season at BW, the Yellowjackets ended the season with a 19-10 record, winning 12 consecutive matches from Sept. 7 through Sept. 25, and capturing a pair of tournament crowns.
